Pastor Jose Paulo Semedo and his wife, Itla
Central Church Bissau
LEAD, and the Lighthouse Church, have been friends
of Guinea-Bissau for many years. They have been an example and a
help to our work. Their example has helped us to start our own enterprise
organization. Through that we have started our own medical clinic,
and boating enterprise. The boat not only helps us to bring missionaries
to the islands, but helps the island people to market their goods
on the mainland. And we now have more than 200 students in our new
school on the Island of Djiu de Gallinha. It is a real gift from
God.

Emilia
Owner of Cashew Processing Enterprise
We provide jobs to our neighbors. Through funds
made available by LEAD we have provided housing to our workers,
added a much larger capacity oven for drying cashews, and are very
excited about the future possibilities of building our industry.
LEAD has been a great help to our effort.

Loida
R.N. and Program Director
Biombo Regional Clinic in Ondame
Mike Blondino came to us in 1995. He promised
to help us get our water pump working, and electricity to our medical
and birthing clinic. We assist more than 50 women in delivery per
month. When the funds were given to us, changes in leadership made
it difficult to access the funds. He personally came to Bissau to
make sure the funds were made available to our clinic. Over the
years LEAD has given us hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical
supplies that we have shared with other medical clinics and hospitals.
We are so thankful.

Dr. Carlos Pinto
Controller, Occidental Bank of Guinea-Bissau
(The West African Reserve - Guinea Bissau Branch)
I have watched many people come to Guinea-Bissau
and offer help. Almost as many times I've seen them leave without
accomplishing anything. LEAD has always promised less and accomplished
more. We deeply respect that. Even when they have not had great
amounts of funds they have given us their lives. We are happy to
see them at the forefront of development in our country. Our nation
is grateful, and our people eager assist them.

Domingos Dias
Senior Pastor, The Antula Church
Blondino! He is like a son, as well as a friend.
He has helped our country and been a neutral person to call pastors
of all denominations together. I have great trust and respect for
anyone like those who work for LEAD who stand up for what is right
even if it is not always popular. These people are helping us to
do what is right and to help our own country.

Mr. Antonio Nunes
President of the National Farmers Association of Guinea-Bissau (ANAG)
We have found a good partner in LEAD International.
Both Mr. Blondino, and Mr. Mario Martinez have shown great ability.
Their focus is correct. They listen to our goals and culture, and
their project is clearly a product of their commitment to God. Because
of our trust in their integrity, reliability and ability to accomplish
our agreed objectives, we have selected LEAD as our sole partner
in developing agriculture in Guinea-Bissau. We are proud to walk
beside them as we move forward.
